Visited Bempton Cliffs with family - time for more bird photos! (well, a few weeks ago, at this point.) It was a pretty cloudy day, raining towards the end, and while there weren't any puffins willing to put themselves on camera, the gannets were quite active. They're really fascinating birds - oddly shaped, with faces that map to human expressions in funny ways.

On a personal note: I was pretty pleased with the quality of the photos this time! It's hard, sometimes, to see others' bird photography and know that it's kind of not feasible with my current gear (autofocus not fast enough, ISO too noisy, etc.) – but patience and mindful consideration helps. I've been remembering to shoot birds with smaller aperatures (otherwise the depth of field is too shallow), and birds become predictable if you watch them long enough. Some of the photos would've benefitted from a faster shutter speed, probably without sacrificing too much additional noise, but it's good to have more things for next time :)
