These photos have been in my backlog for a while, posting them now in lieu of anything taken more recently.

I was regularly putting birdseed out for the various birds that come visit, and on this particular rainy day, there were a couple California Towhees that were braving the elements to get their snacks.

I've found that California Towhees tend to be pretty comfortable with you being nearby, as long as they've at least seen you a couple times, so this one was kind enough to pose for me as I took some photos from very close by.
