A duck shaking the water off its head, blurred into one continue

I sat on the rock wall next to this pond for a long time, just watching the ducks go about their business. There had been a mother & child here feeding them a few minutes before me, so there were still a bunch nearby, looking for remaining scraps.

The feathers on duck's heads happen to catch the water in a really interesting way - they're hydrophobic, but because the feathers are all so small, the water droplets still stick. So after diving a few times, the ducks have a bunch of little drops of water all over their heads.

I wanted to get a picture of those droplets, because they fascinated me - but these ducks were nearly constantly in motion - they'd either be about to go back under, or immediately shaking it off.

With this photo, I thought I had maybe caught the little droplets, but the dim lighting from the overcast day meant the exposure time included some of the duck's shaking head itself, giving a very unique sort of photo. To me, the duck almost looks like it's smiling, which I think is just the cutest thing ever.
