A clump of grass, dirt, and ivy at Temescal Regional Park. The north-side parking lot is visible on the left, between the trees.
I was sitting at a nearby bench, peacefully talking to my dear friend Jack on the phone when I realized that the lighting on the grass behind me was fascinating, hence this picture.
The focus is perhaps a little strange – at the time, I wasn't very comfortable changing the aperture and consistently had it at the largest possible setting (smallest depth of field). A side effect of this, however, is that the spider web just above the grass is quite prominent – even though it wasn't very visible to the naked eye.
