This is a fun one. It was quite cold outside, and I really wasn't planning on going far. There was a long path by the house I was staying at, and the framing on a long hedge meant that it was possible to get the framing just right for this particular tree peeking up from behind it. (It's still ever-so-slightly visible in the bottom-right corner.)

As I was prepping to take this photo, there was a small propeller plane flying somewhat nearby, doing wild kinds of acrobatics (I think there was someone inside as well!). I tried to get a picture of it a couple of times, but my 255mm lens wasn't going to cut it. So, just as I had started to ignore it, it dove through the top-right corner of the frame, going straight down!

I wasn't quite set up though, so out of frame just as quickly as it came – and it never really flew through the same spot again. You'll just have to believe me that the picture could have been amazing.
